Welcome back Kittredge Families!
Welcome back Kittredge Families!
It is with great excitement and pleasure that I write this welcome letter to you. Our custodians have done a great job cleaning and preparing the school for opening day and our teachers have been busy setting up their classrooms. I am eager to see the school come alive again with the return of students.
I continue to be committed to providing a safe nurturing learning environment for all students. To that end, the school will implement all safety measures outlined by school administration. Teachers will be coordinating outdoor snack/recess times by grade level to allow students social time with their friends. Students in combination classrooms will attend their grade levels snack/recess time. In addition, students will eat lunch outside under the tents, weather permitting, allowing them to intermingle freely with their grade level classmates. Please know that all efforts are being made to provide social opportunities for students in a safe environment.
Here is some basic information about arrival and dismissal. Children may arrive at school at 8:10. Staff members will be outside to greet parents and direct students. Please make sure your child arrives with a mask. The school day will begin at 8:25 and students will not be marked tardy until after 8:35. The school day ends at 3:00 unless it is an early release day at which time students will be dismissed at 1:50.
Walkers arriving in the morning will cross the street at the entrance to the one way driveway. Please make sure your child is aware that they need to wait for the crossing guard to stop traffic and signal them to cross. At dismissal, staff members will safely cross walkers to the other side of Main Street at the exit end of the one way driveway. Staff members will continue walking students up to the Osgood Street crossing guard.
All students picked up by car must be met in the front driveway of the school. Cars will form two lines in front of the school building. The left line should turn left at the end of the driveway and the right line should turn right at the end of the driveway. Please do not park off the road on Main Street to pick your child up from the walker line.
I want to thank the Kittredge community for all of your support and kindness. I hope you all enjoy the remaining days of summer break and I look forward to the opening of school next week.
Sincerely,
Richard Cushing
Principal
